Culinary Delights in Japan–Yakisoba
Yakisoba is a Japanese dish made by stir-frying Chinese-style noodles with meat such as pork, and vegetables like cabbage, carrots, onions, and bean sprouts.
In Japan, sauce yakisoba seasoned with Worcestershire sauce is the most common variety, but there are also other variations such as salt yakisoba.
It is widely popular as a home-cooked meal.
Ingredients(Serves 2)
- Cabbage 150g
- Pork belly 120g
- Noodles 2bundles
- Yakisoba sauce(Worcestershire sauce) 4 Tablespoons
- Water 2Tablespoons
- Optional Carrot, Onion 40 g each
Cooking steps
To cut ingredients
- Chop the Cabbage.
- Cut the pork belly into 3cm-wide strips.
- Cut the carrots into matchsticks.
Heat up the pan and stir-fry ingredients.
Heat some oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Stir-fry the pork belly until it’s cooked through.
Add cabbage, carrots, and a pinch of salt to a frying pan.
Cook over medium heat until the vegetables are tender.
Remove from heat.
Stir-fry the noodles
Add 2 tablespoons of water to the pan with the yakisoba noodles.
And cook over medium heat until the noodles are tender.
Once the noodles are separated, return the vegetables and meat, add the sauce.
And stir-fry over medium heat until the flavors are well combined.
